The World Health Organization said the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo had spread to 60 health zones across six provinces, up from 54 zones. As of August 26, Congo had recorded 5,794 confirmed cases and 2,786 deaths. That was an increase of 1,129 cases and 602 deaths since the WHO’s previous update two weeks earlier.
The Food and Drug Administration authorized Juul Labs to market its updated JUUL2 vaping device and tobacco- and menthol-flavored pods in the United States. The device offers an optional app-based age-verification system. The FDA said authorization allows the products to be sold but does not mean the agency considers them safe or endorses their use.
