U.S. forces destroyed five Iranian crude-oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. U.S. Central Command said the strikes followed two attempted ballistic-missile attacks on an American Navy warship. Officials said the tankers’ crews were warned to abandon the vessels before they were struck.
Houthi attacks across Saudi Arabia wounded 73 people and started fires at oil facilities and utilities. The strikes included an attack near Jazan, which is home to one of the country’s largest refineries.
